Allyson originally hails from the beautiful, yet cold & snowy, area of upstate New York where she gained much of her experience and education. Even before formal graduation with her Bachelor’s in Accounting from State University of New York at Brockport, Allyson had landed a job as a staff accountant at a local firm in the upstate area. Within two years she was hired by a larger New York firm as Senior Accountant. Having moved from the first firm that specialized in non-profits to this bigger firm that primarily served individuals, Allyson further expanded her work experience another two years later by accepting an opportunity with another full service accounting practice; this one catering to small businesses and corporations.
With a move to sunny & warm Florida in 2001, Allyson not only continued her work experience, by landing a long term senior position with a Port Charlotte-based accounting practice, she also continued her education and earned her Master’s in Accounting in 2005. Recognizing that about the only experience missing from her resume at this point was in the private sector, and that it would help her to better understand the needs of corporate clients, Allyson took a position as Corporate Controller for a Sarasota-based web technology company whose work and infrastructure has since grown to handle $5 billion in annual online retail transactions.
After two years in the private sector, and with her accounting experience fully rounded, Allyson brought her passion back to public accounting where she has found a terrific long term home in which to put her advanced education and vast experience to work. Having joined the firm when it was Terry L. Armentrout, CPA, PA, her invaluable knowledge of all aspects of accounting coupled with her tremendous level of energy make her an important member of the Armentrout, Chau & Associates team and a valuable client resource.
An Ohio native, Terry L. Armentrout attended Kent State University and went on to graduate from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Terry eventually worked his way up to an opportunity to take over an existing Englewood-based accounting practice in 1996 and has been running his well respected practice from that point until the end of 2015.
In early 2016, Terry teamed up with Linh Chau to establish Armentrout, Chau and Associates, PLLC. Together they have nearly 45 years of experience in accounting, taxation and finance.
Terry is highly involved in a number professional organizations, including the Florida Institute of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He also has been a member of Sarasota Masonic Lodge 147 for 48 years and a member of the Tampa Scottish Rite’s ritual team for 20 years. Additionally, Terry has served as a treasurer for a number of local organizations.
Terry has four adult children and is a grandfather of nine. He spends his free time fishing, sailing and spending time with newly blended family and his wife Susan. Terry also enjoys working with the Sahib Shrine center, where he has been a member of the clown unit for the past 29 years and serves on the finance committee. He looks forward to continuing to serve both businesses and individuals in Southwest Florida and beyond as a licensed and experienced CPA for Armentrout, Chau and Associates, PLLC.
